Our Little Ones

Nos Petits was the largest of Tunisia’s social and educational philanthropic relief organisations aimed at Tunisian Jewish youth. The organisation was set up in 1934 and, at first, limited its activities to offering items of clothing to Jewish children to wear on religious holidays. Its founders were the lawyer Paul Ghez and the doctors Léon Moatti and Roger Nataf. All were leading figure in the Jewish community. Over time, the organisation developed into one that provided clothes, meals and even holidays to the children of the Alliance Israélite Universelle schools. In the year 1953–54, local Nos Petits organizations fed about 7,000 needy children daily hot lunches and morning and afternoon snacks in some thirty excellently organised canteens throughout the country
