Il Corriere di Tunisi
Il Corriere di Tunisi is the only Italian language newspaper that continues to appear in the Arab world. In 1829 Giulio Finzi, an Italian Jewish political refugee from Livorno, arrived in Tunis and set up the first printing works in Tunis. During the nineteenth century, a large Italian community settled in Tunisia. Under the French Protectorate (1881–1956) there were around 100,000 Italians living in the Regency. In 1956, the «Editions Finzi » began to publish the weekly newspaper, Il Corriere di Tunisi. It’s current editor is Silvia Finzi.
